The Fryske Akademy publishes two scientific journals: It Beaken (quarterly) and De Vrije Fries.
The contributions in It Beaken (The Beacon) deal with the history of Friesland and its language and literature, and with aspects of contemporary Frisian society and changes within it - especially concerning the fields of demography, the sociology of language, regional economy and public administration. In the 71 years of its existence the journal has been the pre-eminent forum for scientific debate on all the above-mentioned subjects.
Seperate volumes of It Beaken are for sale at Afûk.
It is also possible to have a subscription to the magazine 'It Beaken' included in your supportership of the Akademy.
