Mirjam Günther-van der Meij (Hallum 1980) studied English and applied language research in Amsterdam. She concluded her second study with a master dissertation on oral skills at a trilingual school (2008). At the Fryske Akademy she is working on her Phd 'Third language acquisition of balanced and unbalance bilingual adolescents', in which she studies whether balanced Frisian-Dutch bilinguals learn a third language more easily than unbalanced ones. She also works on the project More opportunities with multilingualism. Mirjam Günther is a member of the union for applied language research Anéla and the International Association of Multilingualism (IAM).
