Opinion: 'Reading more Frisian at school: small effort, big effect'

Researchers Evelyn Bosma (Fryske Akademy) and Remco Knooihuizen (University of Groningen ), researchers in the field of multilingual language development, understand the frustration of Erwin Jousma of Forum for Democracy in the Provincial States: reading in Frisian does indeed take more time than reading in Dutch, simply because not much attention is paid to it at school. And that is a pity, because a little more attention to Frisian could already have a great effect.
