Photo report on the 'Language protection in the EU' conference

The Coppieters Foundation organised a conference in Bastia, Corsica, aiming to stimulate the debate by reframing concepts and sharing minority languages’ best practices in accordance with European values and within the framework of multilevel governance. The goal was to recommend the EU to reflect upon its policies and practices in matter of language promotion and protection.

On behalf of the Mercator European Research Centre for Multilingualism and Language Learning, hosted by the Fryske Akademy, our colleague Ydwine Scarse took place in the panel 'Minority language protection in the EU as a citizen’s right: promoting language protection through multilevel governance practices'.

The event was  moderated by Sandrina Antunes from the Universidade do Minho (Portugal) and financially supported by the European Parliament.
