Record number of schools participate in the Frisian dictation!

On Tuesday, 4 April, the annual Small Frisian Dictation will be held again for children from the highest groups of primary education. About 750 children from 38 schools participated in the preliminary selection. 50 children from these schools will participate in the final dictee. While 16 schools entered children last year, the number has more than doubled this year. As usual, the dictation will be held in the State Room of the province of Fryslân.

The text for this year's dictation was written by Tialda Hoogeveen, the children's book ambassador of Friesland. As a writer, Tialda is known for books like Abe en de Aardichman, Maia en har freonen and Wurden fan Timo.

Organisation
The Small Frisian Dictation is organised by the Afûk, Cedin, Province of Fryslân and the Fryske Akademy.

This year, the Great Frisian Dictation will also be held again. That will be on Tuesday 23 May, qualification for that dictation will start soon.
