Biografy
Janneke Spoelstra (Hijum 1962) has been employed by the Fryske Akademy since 2001, first as a proofreader for the Wurdboek fan de Fryske taal/Woordenboek der Friese taal (Dictionary of the Frisian Language), and then as a research assistant involved in other (lexicographical) projects. She completed her master's degree in Frisian Language and Culture, specialising in Literary Culture (University of Groningen 2012). Since 2018, she has been an editor for the Online Dutch-Frisian Dictionary. She now contributes to the maintenance of Frysker.nl. In 2023, she published an article on “Mooglike genderneutrale foarnamwurden yn it Frysk” (Possible gender-neutral pronouns in Frisian).
Janneke Spoelstra is also secretary of the Redaksje Literaire Rigen. She was one of the compilers of the lhbty+ anthology “Do draechst de leafde oan / Jij draagt de liefde aan” (2021) and is currently working on a collection of interviews with female Frisian poets.
