Janneke Spoelstra interviewed ten poets about their poetry and their position in Frisian literature. It is no coincidence that all ten are women. Do women write as much as men? Are they published as easily? Do women have as good opportunities as men in Frisian literature today? These kinds of issues were discussed in the interviews.

On Wednesday 12 November 2025, during the third Conference on Frisian Humanities, Janneke Spoelstra will present her book at the Leonardo Oranje Hotel in Leeuwarden. The book is titled Wêr bliuwe de froulju? Ynterviewbondel oer de Fryske literatuer (1988-2023) (Where are the women? A collection of interviews about Frisian literature (1988-2023)) and is published by Afûk.
