Future makers tell: Why young talent stays in Fryslân

Fryske Akademy PhD student Martijn Kingma is one of 194 people interviewed for the book Future Makers Tell: Why young talent stays in Fryslân.

The interviews with young people included in this book were made by Karen Hogenbirk at the request of Club Diplomatique Fryslân . They are part of a series of 194 stories published on LinkedIn and Instagram in 2023 and 2024 under the name of Friesland Doet .

“Living laboratory”

A quote from the book:

"According to Martijn, Friesland offers the perfect combination of tranquillity and amenities. He explains: 'Where others say it is boring and quiet here, I actually like that. As a scientist, living here is great. You don't necessarily have to live in the big city to be a scientist. You can do scientific research very well in Fryslän. It feels like a living laboratory, because there are so many differences in Frisian."

For sale

The book is for sale by publisher Noordboek and at local bookshops.
