Vacancy: Senior Researcher in Historical Sciences / Programme Coordinator
About the role
This role offers the chance to make a difference in shaping and conducting our research within a small, dynamic organisation. Drawing on our interdisciplinary and internationally oriented research agenda focused on the Frisian case, as a senior researcher you will shape your own research and lead a team of around five researchers. As programme coordinator, you will be responsible, together with three other coordinators with different areas of expertise, for designing and overseeing our research programme.
Profile
We are looking for a researcher with a PhD who approaches historical issues from an interdisciplinary perspective. Possible angles include combinations with historical geography and landscape history, archaeology, philology, or digital methods. The research is regionally anchored in Fryslân and the Frisian regions along the Dutch and German coasts, but contributes to broader theoretical and societal issues and is situated within an international comparative framework.
You have a clear vision of the future of historical research, are able to translate this into concrete research programmes, and take the initiative in setting up (inter)national collaborations and research projects.
