Working groups

Since 1957, the Akademy Lectures Working Group has organised an annual series of six longer public lectures, spread over three days during the winter period. Once again, the working group has succeeded in inviting engaging speakers for this season.

About the Akademy Lectures

The Akademy Lectures (formerly: the Frouljus Lectures) is a series of six public lectures on current, educational, scientific and general social themes, spread over the winter period.

The Akademy Lectures are organised on three different days: this season, these are Friday 13 November 2026, Tuesday 26 January 2027 and Friday 19 March 2027. There are two lectures each day: the first lecture of the day is in the morning from 10:00 to 12:00 (with a coffee break and Q&A/discussion), and the second lecture from 13:30 to 15:30 (with a tea break and Q&A/discussion).

You can choose to attend the lectures in Leeuwarden or in Joure.

Ticket sales

A ticket for the six lectures over three days costs €30,-. You can choose to attend the lectures in Leeuwarden (Grand-Café Restaurant De Koperen Tuin) or in Joure (Party- en Zalencentrum 't Haske).

Please note: it is not possible to buy a ticket for a single lecture.
