Biography
Siebren Dyk (Heerenveen, 1953) studied Dutch in Groningen and Frisian at the VU University of Amsterdam. From 1981 until his retirement in 2019, Dys was affiliated to the Fryske Akademy as lexicographer/linguist. Dyk obtaine his PhD in 1997 on Noun incorporation in Frisian. He contributed to the Dictionary of the Frisian Language (WFT) and to dictionaries of the dialects of Schiermonnikoog (2002), Ameland (2016) and Hindeloopen (2019) and was responsible for Frisian morphology within the Language Portal.
Dyk is editor of the magazine for frisistics Us Wurk.
