The Fryske Akademy is a co-organiser of the conference ‘Experimental Approaches to the Perception and Production of Language Variation’ (ExAPP2026), which will take place in Groningen from 7 to 9 October.

The fifth edition of ‘Experimental Approaches to the Perception and Production of Language Variation’ (ExAPP 2026) is an initiative of the linguists from the CLCG Language Diversity research group at the University of Groningen. Programme coordinator and researcher Nanna Haug Hilton of the Fryske Akademy is a member of the organising committee.

Several researchers from the Fryske Akademy will jointly organise a session on Frisian language technology at ExAPP 2026.

ExAPP 2026

The conference will take place from Wednesday 7 to Friday 9 October 2026 in the Norman Building in Groningen. Keynote speakers are Andries W. Coetzee (University of Michigan), Laura Rosseel (VUB Brussels) and Nicolai Pharao (University of Copenhagen).
