Lutine Prize 2024 for Meslânzer Woardeboek
The Meslânzer Woardeboek has been awarded the Lutine Prize 2024, the annual prize of the Municipality of Terschelling for a work that substantially increases knowledge about Terschelling.
The Meslânzer Woardeboek has been worked on since 2008 by Triny Martens, Gettje Pals, Nel Swart and Piet Smit, together with a sounding board group of dialect speakers. They also received help from Siebren Dyk, former staff member and currently guest researcher at the Fryske Akademy. Dyk ensured that the original word lists were transferred into a dictionary format, and he also took care of the grammar part. He received support in this from Janneke Spoelstra (literary researcher) and Eduard Drenth (software architect) from the Fryske Akademy.
The Fryske Akademy warmly congratulates the Meslânzers working group and our colleagues with this fine prize!
Terschelling's alderman for culture, Danny Ruige, will present the prize at a festive meeting in spring 2025.
