Member magazine “Ut de Smidte” (winter 2025) now online

This edition includes, among other things, a look at the exciting new projects of the Mercator European Research Centre on Multilingualism and Language Learning, which is part of the Fryske Akademy. As part of their Read with MEE project, the creators of a new multilingual game will talk about their work, and researchers Suzanne Dekker and Nika Stefan will discuss the work they have done for the new Frisian Language Survey.

This issue also includes reflections on the last Akademy Day and the newly appointed members Syds Wiersma and Piter Tjeerdsma, as well as the new GIS portal, the books by Janneke Spoelstra and Alderik Blom, future plans for citizen science, Sible Roos and his passion for archaeology, a medieval coin that was lost at the Akademydei at the beer tap, and much more.
