Thesis Award 2022-2024 assigned to Sannah Debreczeni

The 2022-2024 Fryske Akademy Thesis Award has been assigned to Sannah Debreczeni. An honorable mention was given to Herman van Vliet.

The 2022-2024 Thesis Award of the Fryske Akademy has been assigned to Sannah Debreczeni. Debreczeni completed her master's thesis, Exploring the Link Between Attitudes and Intelligibility in the Frisian Context: Introducing the Theory of Planned Behaviour, for the Research Master Language & Cognition at the University of Groningen on 28 June, 2022. From the hands of the jury, she received a certificate and a cheque worth 1,000 euros.

An honorable mention was given to Herman van Vliet for his master's thesis The Eating Culture at the Frisian stadholder court in the first half of the 18th century, completed for the MA History Today at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Groningen on 26 November, 2022.

The jury this year consisted of project leader Old Frisian Dr. Han Nijdam and linguists Dr. Anne Merkuur and Dr. Nika Stefan.
