Meeting with lecture in Tresoar (Leeuwarden) about the history of Bolsward

The board of the Archaeological Association invites you to a lecture on Tuesday 13 October 2026. 
Everyone is welcome; please bring along your own finds for identification.

About Theun Varwijk
Theun Varwijk is an archaeologist at the RAAP research firm and is involved in excavations in Bolsward. These excavations have yielded a wealth of information about the town’s history through remarkable finds, such as house foundations and wells, a statuette of a saint, cloak pins, coins, and even a 12th-century Arabic coin fibula. Based on this material, Varwijk can tell us a great deal about the development of Bolsward.

The Archaeological Association is organising a series of meetings during the winter of 2026/2027:
