Biography
Alex Kerkhof (Cali (Colombia),1988) is a historical linguist and historian. Kerkhof studied Medieval History and Comparative Indo-European Linguistics in Leiden and defended his PhD there in 2018 with a dissertation on the linguistic and cultural history of the Merovingian Franks. He conducts linguistic research into the settlement history of the Low Countries. As a specialist in the language history of Dutch and Frisian, Kerkhof is also regularly involved in science popularization and heritage projects.
