Frisistyk launched: the new online magazine for Frisian language and literature

After a well-attended Day of Frisian Linguistics, the new online journal for Frisian language and literature was presented at Café Neushoorn in Leeuwarden last Friday afternoon: Frisistyk.
Frisistyk.nl (as well as Frisistyk.frl) is an extension of the successful Neerlandistiek.nl, a website that is halfway between a scientific journal and a knowledge website for a lay audience.

Editor-in-chief of Neerlandistiek Marc van Oostendorp (Meertens Institute/ Radboud University) and Anne Merkuur (Fryske Akademy/ Rijksuniversiteit Groningen) welcomed about 50 guests interested in the possibilities of this new medium. In addition to general pieces on Frisian linguistics, history and literature, Frisistyk will also provide space for topics such as Frisian in education and Frisian language policy and the linguistics and literature of the other Frisian languages such as North Frisian and Sater Frisian.

The editors of Frisistiek are now, of course, looking for people who would like to contribute to Frisistyk. Would you like to show something of your research, would you like to make available an advance publication of a book, have you organised an interesting event? Then let the editors know.
