About the biography

Tony Feitsma came from a Frisian family, but grew up in Wieringermeer. She went to grammar school in Alkmaar, studied Frisian, Danish and French in Amsterdam and became a scientific assistant, a French teacher, a chief scientific officer and finally a Frisian professor. In addition, Tony Feitsma has been active all her life for the Frisian movement.

Westra describes her life in that context and evaluates her contribution to science and the movement. He also answers the question how Tony Feitsma became so Frisian and gives insight into her special character.
