Hartman Sannes
The information on schoolmasters in Friesland was collected by educator, histoarist and writer Hartman Sannes (1890-1956). In 2008, the Fryske Akademy website published the data on the heads of schools in Friesland between about 1600 and 1950. The material now added was entered by Hessel Dantuma from Oldetrijne. It had not been published before.  

Schoolmaster project
The aim of the Schoolmaster Project is to display the material in the same way that Sannes himself did in the regional newspapers. Again, the corpus Sannes is published without corrections or additions. Research assistant/information specialist Peter van der Meer, says: "On this way, all the data collected by Sannes also remain in their proper context."

An effort has been made to adhere to Sannes' original texts as far as possible; of course, there have been spelling changes and the text has been slightly modified in some places. Only in those cases where Sannes made an obvious mistake has it been (tacitly) corrected.
