Akademydei 2021

On our 83rd Dies Natalis, our CEO gave a speech, there was a lecture by Rev. Dr. Simon Coupland of the University of Cambridge on the traces of the Scandinavians in Fryslân, there were short project presentations by Akademy employees on various aspects of multilingualism; multilingual literacy; the Dutch-Frisian dictionary and the inclination to the north in the 19th century. There is also a book offer of prose and poetry by Jouwert Jouwertsma. Sytske de Boer, Siebren Dyk, Stéphane Lebeck and Steven Sterk were appointed as new members.

Akademydei 2019

On our 81st dies natalis there were lectures by Han Nijdam, Jan Hallebeek and Hylkje de Jong on the legal history of early modern Friesland and by Anne Merkuur on the changing Frisian. The program was interspersed with performances by Wiebe Kaspers and Arjan Hut. Freark Smink, Klaasje Postma and Hindrik ten Hoeve were appointed as new members.

On our 80th dies natalis, interim director Willem Smink gave a speech about the state of affairs at the Fryske Akademy, there was a presentation by Marjoleine Sloos about 'The Boarnsterhim Corpus: synchrony and diachrony in language' and a presentation by Jelske Dijkstra about language change in Frisian. Grytz & Grize gave a beautiful musical performance and the thesis prize was awarded. The following were appointed as members of the Fryske Akademy: Bootsma, Sytse Buwalda, Douwe Draaisma and Joop Koopmans.


Akademydei 2017

On our 79th Dies Natalis, Gilles de Langen gave a lecture on ' Terps, churches and farms. Interdisciplinary research into settlement development in full medieval Frisia ' and Hans Mol about ' HisGIS Fryslân: de útwreiding mei it projekt  Persoanen en perselen 1750-1900 yn it ramt fan it Deltaplan ErfguodDigitalisearring fan de provinsje. Stân fan saken and perspectives '. Broer de Witte performed with music by Popma van Oevering. And as usual, this year too, people have been appointed members of the Fryske Akademy for special merits: Foppe de Haan, Rienk Wegener Schleswijk and Cisca Wijmenga.
